We are committed to the idea that every child is unique. We are here to supply a warm, loving, supportive atmosphere where each child may feel free to express him or herself, learn, grow, and realize his or her potential. Enrollment shall be open to any child without discrimination.
Pleasant Hill's staff are dedicated, creative and caring. Each teacher is fully committed to the Pleasant Hill Philosophy. They provide the educational stimulation of an exciting program combined with the warmth, affection, and guidance that allows each child to develop at his or
her own pace. All staff are CPR and First Aid certified.
We are proud to have NYS Certified teachers in our classrooms who are equipped to prepare your child for Kindergarten.
Field Trips and Special Guests
Fire Fighters, Police Officers, Dentists, and other community figures visit the children throughout the year. The Fours will go on some walking trips to visit other areas of the community. A music specialist comes in weekly to share her talents with the children. If you have any talents, we encourage you to volunteer to come into the school to share with the children.
Meeting time
Each group begins with a meeting time, which may include greetings, calendar, weather, experiences, stories, and discussion of the day’s activities.
Classroom Time
Imaginative play, arts and crafts, painting, water or sand play, science exploration, manipulative materials, constructions, puzzles, and games are offered in each classroom. Children are encouraged to move freely around the room, choosing their favorite areas in which to play. Everyone is encouraged to take part in the activity of the day.

Outdoor Play
The length of time outside varies with the seasons and the weather, but children should be prepared to go outside every day. This includes hats, gloves, and boots when necessary.
A child's introduction to school is a milestone and a very important step. Our Two's program is designed to ensure success through a nurturing staff, small groups, and a happy, safe, age-appropriate environment. Stories, music, and finger plays are abundant along with lots of time to explore and enjoy toys, art materials, sand, and water play. Since the Two's cannot be expected to share, our rooms are equipped with toys in duplicate and triplicate. Socialization and Language development are encouraged by our experienced teachers who are chosen because of their love and patience with the Two's.
